What's new
TAFE NSW – South Western Sydney Institute recognised by CASA as preferred training provider
TAFE NSW – South Western Sydney Institute has become the first TAFE Institute in Australia to be granted authority as an approved aircraft maintenance training organisation following new Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) legislation.
As a result of gaining CASA approval, the Institute will offer Diploma level training to current aircraft engineers, licensed engineers and apprentices under the new Civil Aviation Order.
Australian aircraft maintenance personnel will now be able to obtain licences and ratings based on the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) categories – A, B1 and B2, and aircraft ratings.
This new accreditation means graduating students will be able to apply for the new licence after successful completion of the Diploma and appropriate work experience.
