Learning Plan Generators

The Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction & Transport Curriculum Centre (MEC&T) has undertaken to expand the current range of 5 Learning Plan Generators to cover 24 training packages and the NSW Access Employment Education and Training (AEET) framework by December 2007.

Learning Plan Generators allow teachers to perform an analysis of a workplace to determine a suitable qualification. The generators create full training/learning plans, program the delivery, create roll book inserts and perform other labour saving functions. Two levels of Recognition of Prior Learning process are built into each generator to assist learners and teachers in the creation of a customised learning plan.

MEC&T backs up each Learning Plan Generator with a professional development program to learn the application of the tool and provides assistance to licensed users.

The Learning Plan Generator was developed by teachers in an industry environment, and has been continually refined based on feedback by teachers using them in the workplace and in TAFE NSW colleges.

Current Learning Plan Generators are customised to their specific training package and the practitioners’ requirements, assisting RTOs in meeting a range of AQTF standards. MEC&T is committed to developing a Learning Plan Generator for every endorsed training package.
